July 16, National Sex Offender Site

Everybody has heard about these sites at least once. Family Watchdog is a National sex offender site with a link to find.intelius.com, a complete record finder service. So if you want to dig deep, these are some tools. Go ahead and type your address. I am warning you, it is scary to see how much trash surround your home.

Le Tour 06, Stage 11...

The tour looks more human after Lance. I was sad to see the Discover Channel riders scattered all over Stage 11 mountain passes. It is difficult to comprehend how difficult a stage with multiple mountain passes really is. I rode 140k of the 180k of last year Stage 16 from Mounrenx To Pau, only to ride 120k of the 239k (Ouch) from Pau to Revel the next day. It was described as a flat stage but the “saw tooth jagged profile” in the elevation illustration gives an idea of what their concept of Flat really is. My frame of reference of the level of difficulty faced by the riders (even those behind the team cars) has change forever. We continued to ride every day except during the transfer day to Paris. I can now understand but can not imagine what would be like to ride the entire tour. My hat goes off to all riders! Allez, Allez, Venga, Venga!!! Vive Le tour.

July 2005, One year ago...

One year ago I had the opportunity to ride from the Pyrenees Mountains to Paris on the same days and routes that the Pros. It was Lance final tour and I just could not miss it. It was an experience to remember. Check out some photos I took during my stay in France.

July 9, 2006 The Two Castle Ride

A hilly ride with a couple mechanicals and a very hot finish. Check out the temperature rise on the graph! See Stan’s blog for ride details.

July 7, Jersey update!

Ok guys, the Jersey graphic files were accepted by Champion Systems. Contact Gene for the down payment. Nothing starts until we show the Money. At least half of it!

And the winner is...

It looks like the Green-Gold jersey is the winner! We are considering using Champion System to produce the jersey. Please get familiar with the size chart to pick yours and email Gene with your wish list. Forgive me if you already know this but the difference between Race and Club cut is that the Club cut is a bit wider/loose fit on the chest area. (You are getting to be quite a bike geek if you already knew this!) According to Champion System “Race and Club cuts” can be combined for their minimum.

Now let’s talk about color. I will pick the color and you just going to have to live with it! Not the case! Here is how it works, I did talk to Champion and fortunately they let you pick any color for the base jersey and graphic details from the PMS system (If you know what PMS means, you are now upgraded to a graphic Geek. No, PMS is not the women’ syndrome either). Pantone Systems or formerly known as PMS (They got tired of the jokes) is an industry standard color system for graphic design. We will pick the colors from a color “chip book” for all the colors in the jersey. Nice ahh! Well here is the problem, I am not going to carry my few hundred bucks color chip book in my rear sweaty a%$#@. So Gene and I will have to figure out a way of picking the colors. I am sorry but to avoid delays this event won’t be held in a democratic way. We will do it more like politician’s way, we will pick the color and you will have to pay for it!

I am working the final files for submission this week. So any changes you will have convince Gene before end of the day today. (Sorry for the short notice)
According to Champion systems it will take 6 to 8 weeks form the date of proof approval to produce the Jersey. So let’s get it done!!!
